Canada Day fun with Plaster Paint!

We all have mason jars around the house, so I thought I would do a patriotic Canadian version of the USA flag painted jars I have seen all over Pinterest.

With my handy Plaster Paint, I painted up three Made in Canada jars with Ruby Red and Ivory Lace using a graphic found online for the maple leaf and traced around it with a pencil. A bit distressing, especially around "Canada" and "Canadian" and then sealed with a coat of wax. A quick and easy 30 minute project that you and your kiddos can do for your Canada Day celebrations this weekend!!

Just a reminder of our shop's holiday hours...we are open Saturday, Sunday and Monday and CLOSED on July 1st! Have a lovely Canada Day in our wonderful country!!

Native Stone Stenciled Stools!

I adore this color!! It is Native Stone paired with Ivory Lace by Plaster Paint...such a dramatic and bright combination. I always forget to take the ugly "before" photos and I wish you could have seen these stools. They were not pretty. One was black and the other bright orange and the seats were painted in folky poorly drawn flowers. Insert sad face here!

Two coats of paint and then the most fun Mod inspired stencil by 2 Berry Creative completed the look. I scored this stencil and another on Groop Dealz when they had them on for only $7.99 each. They are not huge stencils though, so you have to paint, let dry and reposition a couple of times to complete even a small area like the seat tops...totally worth the effort though, in my opinion! Now you can turn that frown upside down!! Ha!

Stay tuned for another Native Stone project very soon!!

A Vintage Affair is very pleased to be the first Alberta & only Calgary retailer to carry the Plaster Paint line of chalk style decorator paint! Plaster Paint originates in Oklahoma and now has a Canadian manufacturer/distributor in Merritt, BC...Plaster Paint Canada!

We have been busy girls painting up new pieces to put in the shop for you all to see this great paint that is so easy to use. No prep is needed...so you don't have to strip, sand or prime...just paint over that ugly piece of old unloved furniture to turn it into a beautiful piece for your home. We love that you can complete a project in an afternoon as drying time is only about 20-25 minutes between coats (sometimes even less!)

We have received our first shipment of paint with 14 of the 30 available colors...so come on down anytime to see how easy it is to "Get Plastered"!

Sizes are:
