A Beautiful Bohemian Bride

We admit...we first got this dress with the intention of repurposing the yards of lace. One day, a sweet young bride-to-be tried it on and we were floored...it was actually a gorgeous 1970s gown!! We pictured a wedding in a meadow or a grassy prairie...so romantic and very bohemian chic.

With the addition of a stunning floral headpiece, amazing bouquet, soft and natural makeup and Shannon's hair in a side braid our Boho Bride vision came to life!

Lace and Glitter!

We are back from a bit of a Christmas break and hope you are all having a lovely holiday so far! Did you or anyone you know get engaged over Christmas????

Continuing our A Spoonful of Vintage wedding shoot with Shannon in a darling 1950s lace number. A full skirt is a must for a wedding filled with dancing as are some comfy sparkly shoes!!

Did you notice that the cake toppers are a cute kitten duo which are actually 1950s Salt & Pepper Shakers??? Such a unique idea!

Fifties Feminine

Samantha's second bridal look was a classic 1950s gown with spaghetti straps and full skirt with lace and tulle. So pretty, flirty and easy to wear with no big fuss.

We know it's "all about the shoes" these days and paired the dress with teal sparkly ankle strap pumps for extra fun and glamor. Don't you just love the shoe shot!!

The finishing touches to this part of the shoot were the fabulous cake and cupcakes by the talented folks at Cakeworks. For a truly unique decoration, they used a variety of pretty vintage brooches...and the best part is that once the cake is all devoured, you can wear the brooches!!

I knew the Bride when she used to rock & roll....

Edgy, fun...and all legs! Clare truly rocks this vintage lacy micro mini with accordian pleated skirt. We finished off the look with a white rabbit jacket, skull necklace and studded black belt. Now that is vintage made modern!!!

Our first post and "A Spoonful of Vintage"

Welcome to A Vintage Affair - the Blog!

Now that we are nicely settled intp our permanent location in the Beltline Design District, we are doing all kinds of fun and crazy things!!

Today we launched one of our favorite and funnest projects to date, "A Spoonful of Vintage". This is a collaboration of local vendors who specialize in giving the "Vintage Bride" her own special look to her wedding. Each of our business owners has a love of vintage and that nostalgic feeling is carried over to each of their specialties. More to come on each of the participating businesses to come soon.
