Spring & Weddings!!

Well the weather might not exactly be all daffodils and sunshine, but the new clothes are sure bright and cheery! We have been busy putting out new Spring stock every day and it is fabulous! Lots of pinks and yellows in great florals, stripes and novelty prints!

We are also getting into "wedding mode" for The Vintage Wedding Showcase which happens next month! We've been prepping lots of gowns for our mini fashion shows and our store display at the event...and let me tell you...they are beautiful!! We even have recently scored some amazing Victorian and Edwardian dresses that are pretty special.

If you haven't heard, the showcase is happening on Sunday, April 21st and early bird tickets are $10 until March 31st and then $12. Available at the shop, the door or here:

The Vintage Wedding Showcase is coming!

A Vintage Affair is part of a team of local businesses who love everything "Vintage, Bridal & Fabulous"!. We are hosting Calgary's first ever Vintage Wedding Showcase to be held on Sunday, April 21st at the adorably vintage Mount Pleasant Community Center.

Tickets available for $10 advance until March 31st, then $12. (Please note that Eventbrite fees apply for online purchases). Tickets will also be available in person at A Vintage Affair (638 - 11th Avenue SW) and at the door.

1st Anniversary Party

We are so excited to be celebrating the First Anniversary of our permanent Beltline location!!

We have recently acquired hundreds of new items from our buy-out of a BC vintage store, many of those items will be hitting the floor for the first time that night!!

Also on display will be some of our lovely & rare 1920s beaded flapper dresses!!

What a year!!

Looking back at the past year of A Vintage Affair it is a bit of a whirlwind experience. What started off as a pop-up shop in a gorgeous Beltline store ended up as our permanent location. We never dreamed that would happen & we are so, so glad it did!!

We sure had a lot of parties...we just like having people over for a glass of wine on a regular basis!! Whether it was a launch party, Retro Hair School Class private shopping night or Block Party...we enjoyed seeing our regular customers and made lots of new friends. 

We participated in several fun out of store events like Vintage Chicks, two East Village sales,  the PARK sale and were sponsors for the The SWAP Team and The Al Capone Charade by Toe Tappin' Swing...so much fun getting out of the shop and taking it on the road.

One of our funnest projects all year was working with our talented friend Tara Whittaker to produce some great photos in preparation to launch our Vintage Bridal Collection (stay tuned for more on that in the near future). We also formed A Spoonful of Vintage, a group of like minded vintage loving wedding vendors and we look forward to more projects with them!

So, thanks to all of you who stop by to say hello, try on a frock, admire the jewellery, buy your "dream dress"...without your support we couldn't have done it!!

And....of course we will be having a party next month to celebrate our One Year Anniversary, more on that to come!!!!

A Vintage Affair

A Beautiful Bohemian Bride

We admit...we first got this dress with the intention of repurposing the yards of lace. One day, a sweet young bride-to-be tried it on and we were floored...it was actually a gorgeous 1970s gown!! We pictured a wedding in a meadow or a grassy prairie...so romantic and very bohemian chic.

With the addition of a stunning floral headpiece, amazing bouquet, soft and natural makeup and Shannon's hair in a side braid our Boho Bride vision came to life!
